On June 7, 2023, the Pietro Barbaro Foundation was pleased to offer the adult civic community the performance titled ‘Lighea, a tale of love and the sea,’ focused on marine and eco-logical themes, representing the primary outcome of our project. The theatrical show is, in fact, the culmination of an educational journey that integrated multimedia elements and artistic forms of various kinds, initiated in 2022. An impactful exhibit aimed at persuading and engaging the adult audience in new sustainable concepts and mindsets.
The performance, freely inspired by Tomasi di Lampedusa’s story ‘The Mermaid,’ was created and designed for the Foundation by the performer and author Patrizia D’Antona, with music by Rita Collura and Mauro Cottone, and logistical support from our partner Idrisi Cultura e Sviluppo ETS. It was accompanied by multimedia environmental storytelling installations created by Carraro Lab.
We express our sincere gratitude to the National Erasmus+ INDIRE Agency and the Adult Education Unit for their support of the event and the promotional materials of the Program, which were generously provided and distributed to our numerous participants.
